Case in Class-Action Lawsuit in Canada

A recent report about the class-action Invokana lawsuit, with at least 36 plaintiffs in Canada, described the case involving Buffie Tarr. She was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2007, and her physician prescribed Invokana in August 2015. Soon after, Tarr started:

  • Vomiting
  • Suffering from dehydration
  • Experiencing migraine headaches

Physicians diagnosed ketoacidosis and kidney failure, which Janssen Pharmaceuticals did not identify as Invokana side effects. The lawsuit alleges that the warnings on the diabetes medication were insufficient, and the company failed to study the long-term risks.
